Mazda reveals first Limited Edition of the all-new Mazda MX-5 with the “Sport Recaro”
Mazda have announced that the first limited edition version of the hugely popular all-new Mazda MX5: the Sport Recaro will coming next Spring.
Based on the 2.0-litre 160ps Sport Nav model and limited to a production run of just 600 cars, the all-new Mazda MX-5 Sport Recaro will retain the the finely balanced performance and handling of the standard all-new Mazda MX5, but will add exclusivity and sporty styling enhancements both inside and out.
Created for those discerning sports car fans, the Sport Recaro builds on the MX-5’s characteristic sharp looks and sleek styling with a Brilliant Black Sports Aero kit that includes a rear spoiler, plus front, side and rear skirts. Piano Black door mirrors and 17-inch diamond cut alloy wheels with an engraved MX-5 logo will complete the car’s attention grabbing appearance.
Boosting the luxurious feel of the cabin, the MX-5 cabin will gain an Alcantara dashboard panel, alloy pedals and unique floor mats, while the Recaro seats will feature Alcantara upholstery on the seat cushion and seat back, with bespoke red piping, complementing the dash, handbrake and gear lever’s red stitching.
The Mazda MX-5 has been one of the most popular cars that T W White & Sons has ever sold – with the key benchmark of 15,000 vehicles being sold achieved in May 2015. “Since the launch of the all-new Mazda MX5, we have seen huge demand and the feedback from satisfied customers has been phenominal” said Mazda Franchise Manager, Gordon Parker. “The limited edition Sport Recaro version is expected to be a huge hit – we are very excited for the first limited edition of the all-new MX5”.
Designed to deliver outstanding support, the heated Recaro seats are perfectly aligned with the Japanese brand’s ‘Jinba Ittai’ concept of ‘car and driver as one’. Enhancing the Mazda MX-5’s driver-focused cabin and communicative controls, the supportive Recaro seats match the fun-to-drive ethos that has made the Mazda MX-5 the best-selling two-seater sports car of all time.
Based on the generous specification of the 2.0-litre Sport Nav, the all-new Mazda MX-5 Sport Recaro features a host of technology to make owning the car even more enjoyable. From climate control air-conditioning, cruise control and DAB digital radio to rear parking sensors and a premium Bose sound system the Mazda MX-5 combines comfort and convenience with its characteristic dynamic handling.
In line with the 2.0-litre Sport Nav, the Sport Recaro benefits from a dynamic set-up that includes Sports suspension featuring Bilstein dampers, a limited slip differential and a stabilising strut tower bar.
