Mazda 2: even more features with updated Mazda 2 Venture Edition

Buyers searching for a stylish supermini with plenty of equipment look no further – the updated Mazda 2 Venture Edition has landed.

As part of the revised range of the Venture trim level for selected Mazda models, the Japanese firm’s superb small hatchback offers even more equipment than before, including rear parking sensors, automatic headlights and wipers, 16-inch Bright finish alloy wheels, black mirror covers and some unique exterior paint colours.

Inside, new Mazda 2 Venture Edition variants get sportier trim for the seats, with contrasting red stitching – perfect to match the Zeal Red Mica paint, or great against the cool Meteor Grey Mica hue of the bodywork.

That’s all on top of sat nav, climate control, electric windows all-round, remote central locking, Bluetooth, USB connectivity, steering wheel mounted audio controls and a tactile, premium leather gear knob and steering wheel.

Only available in five-door guise, the upgraded 2013 Mazda 2 Venture Edition is not only brilliantly equipped, but superbly practical too.

A maximum of 469 litres of load space means you won’t have trouble carrying your possessions – even if there’s a lot to move – while a spacious five-seat interior belying the Mazda 2’s diminutive dimensions means comfort, but easy manoeuvring around town.

It’s reassuringly safe for a small car, as well. All Mazda 2 models get driver, front passenger, front side and curtain airbags, anti-lock brakes, ISOFIX child seat anchor points and a Thatcham approved alarm and immobiliser.

A flexible and zesty 84hp 1.3-litre petrol engine means 0-62mph comes up in a competitive 13.6 seconds, while fuel economy of 56.5mpg combined with 115g/km CO2 emissions – equating to just £30 per year – means it won’t cost a fortune to run.

And on the subject of money, it won’t break the bank to buy. Mazda is offering the new Mazda 2 Venture Edition – on sale now – with more equipment than ever before from £13,295.

Available with the same great standard of equipment – plus a reversing camera to help manoeuvring – the Mazda 5 is a consummate all-rounder when it comes to dealing with the rigours of family life.
