Mazda CX-60 Review
The Mazda CX-60 is the first Plug in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) to be launched by Mazda and includes generously high levels of luxury and kit as standard.
Features such as wireless Apple Carplay/Android Auto, hands free power liftgate, Smart Brake support, front and rear parking sensors, reversing camera, Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Traffic Alert are all included as standard, pushing the Mazda CX-60 into a whole new premium class.
Available in 3 trim levels: Exclusive, Homura and Takumi, the Mazda CX-60 is powered by a 2.5 litre four-cylinder petrol engine alongside an electric motor with a 17.8kWh battery. This gives a offers a combined output of 327 horsepower meaning the all-new Mazda CX-60 can reach a maximum speed of up to 124mph when driving in Hybrid mode.
It has a pure EV driving range of 39 miles meaning you can drive the kids to school and do the morning commute tailpipe emission free, or when it comes to packing your bags and hitting the road for a weekend away the CX-60 will switch seamlessly between a blend of petrol and electric, meaning the CX-60’s Plug-in Hybrid system fits effortlessly into your life.
The Mazda CX-60 benefits from the smoothness and improved handling offered by a rear-wheel-drive setup. It is also available in all-wheel drive for added stability traction. In addition, the AWD system will maximise the amount of energy that can be recovered from all 4 wheels when braking using an advanced regenerative braking system, helping to further charge the battery while on the move.
The Mazda CX-60 is the first of two new models from Mazda’s “Large Product Group” set for release in Europe, the second being a larger 7-seater SUV, the Mazda CX-80, which is expected to launch later this year. The CX-60 sits alongside the current SUVs available in the Mazda range, the 2022 Mazda CX-5 and the smaller Mazda CX-30.
