Suzuki Ignis Review
The Suzuki Ignis is a compact city car with SUV properties
The new Suzuki Ignis has classic sleek, yet bold Suzuki looks with a unique, one of a kind design.
Compact and convenient, the Ignis is just 3.7m in length and 1.7m wide, but don’t be fooled by its smaller size – there is no compromise on performance. This lightweight SUV is smooth and easy to drive, and with ALLGRIP 4-wheel drive options it is ideal for both on and off-road terrains.
The Suzuki Ignis is available in three trims, each with an efficient 1.2 Dualjet engine as standard. In addition, Suzuki’s mild-hybrid version is available across the Ignis range. This hybrid system offers lower CO2 consumption of as little as 97g/km, and fuel economy of up to 65.7mpg, for an efficient drive. With up to 88lb ft. of torque, this Suzuki small SUV delivers powerful performance, and can reach speeds of up to 106mph (excluding the SZ4 4×4 model).
ALLGRIP Auto 4-wheel Drive distributes torque to specific wheels in slippery conditions to ensure maximum grip, and Hill Descent Control automatically applies the car’s breaks on steep downhill slopes to regulate speed.
All trims of the Suzuki Ignis come with air conditioning and front and rear speakers as standard, for comfort and convenience. Stay connected and entertained, with DAB radio, Bluetooth capabilities and USB media ports also as standard. Access a host of digital radio stations, or connect your own devices to play your music through the 4 speakers for the ultimate personal driving experience.
The SZT and SZ5 models have 50:50 rear folding seats, for additional storage space in this efficient and compact SUV. To add to the spacious interior, these two trims also offer a rear parking camera to assist with reversing and placing. The SZ5 model comes complete with 2 extra tweeter speakers, LED headlights, keyless entry and start, and cruise control with speed limiter.
Style is also combined with safety in the Ignis. Side-impact protection beams are offered as standard across the Ignis models, which add stiffness to the side doors and help to distribute the energy of a crash over a wider area for added absorption. A useful Brake Assist function can detect when you’re attempting an emergency stop and acts to add additional brake support. The SZ5 trim features Dual Camera Brake Support, which uses a built-in camera to recognise shapes and objects such as vehicles and white road
